Appendix F: Hot Plug Support
The PCI Express defines the mechanism for hot-plug support for downstream ports and provides a "toolbox" of mechanisms that allow different user/operator models to be supported using a self-consistent infrastructure. This feature is applicable to Root Complex and switch downstream ports.

| Power Controller | Software-controlled electronic component or components that control power to a slot or adapter and monitor that power for fault conditions |
