Cut Through Mode

During Cut Through mode, the Ethernet 10G MAC core starts transmitting the Ethernet packet without waiting for the end of frame (EOF).

In the event of errors during Cut Through mode, the Ethernet frame becomes error frame, i.e., XGMII_TXD = FE and XGMII_TXC = 1, and is terminated. More details on the error TX frame are described in Terminating Bad TX Frames.

Figure 1 illustrates the operation of 3 Ethernet packets during Cut Through mode.
